RIO TAPAJÓS

A terceira escuta começou no ano de 2022 com o rio Tapajós. Essa escuta veio atender o chamado urgente de um rio que está morrendo sufocado no mercúrio das atividades de mineração ilegal que acontece em suas margens.
Uma das imagens que nos guiarão é o encontro de águas que acontece entre o rio Tapajós e o rio Amazonas, nas margens da cidade de Santarém no Estado do Pará, onde ambos os rios seguem juntos centenas de quilômetros lado a lado sem misturar suas águas. Dois são um, e um é dois. Este local é conhecido por seus poderes mágicos. Para nós, é a imagem de um encontro real, um contraponto do encontro colonial que devastou e exterminou numerosos humanos e não humanos, populações. Uma imagem ainda a ser revelada. A escuta do Tapajós está em fase de pesquisa e a estréia está prevista para 2024.
The third listening began in 2022 with the Tapajós River. This listening came to answer the urgent call of a river that is dying, suffocating in the mercury of illegal mining activities taking place on its banks.
One of the images that will guide us is the meeting of waters that takes place between the Tapajós River and the Amazon River, in the banks of the city of Santarém in the State of Pará, where both rivers flow together for hundreds of kilometers side by side without mixing their waters. Two are one, and one is two. This place is known for its magical powers. For us, it is the image of a real encounter, a counterpoint to the colonial encounter that devastated and exterminated numerous human and non-human populations. An image yet to be revealed. Tapajós listening is in the research phase and the premiere is scheduled for 2024.
